Mason Korea Faculty Premier Conference Award supports Mason Korea faculty in advancing their scholarly research, fostering innovation in teaching and learning, and enhancing their professional visibility within their academic communities. By providing resources to participate in top-tier conferences, the award encourages faculty to share their expertise, build networks with leading scholars in their disciplines, and bring back insights that enrich the academic environment at Mason Korea.

• Eligibility

Full-time Mason Korea faculty are eligible to apply. Strong preference will be given to faculty invited to present as speakers at a Premier Conference. Faculty who have received FRDA funds in the same year are also eligible. Applicants must clearly explain the need for funds, how they will be used, and why the conference qualifies as a Premier Conference in their field.

• Funding

Each selected faculty member will receive up to $2,500. Funds must be disbursed and used before the end of each fiscal year.

• Application Materials

Application must include the following, in this order:

1. Statement Narrative
   • Describe the conference background and its significance in your field
   • Explain your role, activities, and anticipated outcomes from participation
   • Provide supporting evidence that the conference is recognized as a Premier Conference (e.g., documentation, endorsement from your Local Academic Unit)
   • If applicable, include information on your previous record of funding support, current funding sources, and past conference attendance
2. Proof of Invitation
   • Include official confirmation that you are invited as a speaker or presenter
3. Budget Summary & Justification
   • Complete the Summary Budget Form
   • Provide a Budget Justification detailing calculations for each expense
   • Required categories include: airfare, lodging, per diem, conference fees, and ground transportation
   • All expenditures must comply with the university’s fiscal, purchasing, and travel policies. Funds not used within the project period will be returned to Mason Korea.
